Ali Ka Musalla Lyrics in English Letters (Romanized)

Ya Ali Ya Ali Ya Ali
Ya Ali Ya Ali Ya Ali

Tar Ho Gaya Hai Khoon Mein
Ali Ka Musalla
Tar Ho Gaya Hai Khoon Mein
Ali Ka Musalla

Ai Momino Padho Ab
Ro Ro Ye Nauha
Ai Momino Padho Ab
Ro Ro Ye Nauha

Tar Ho Gaya Hai Khoon Mein
Ali Ka Musalla
Tar Ho Gaya Hai Khoon Mein
Ali Ka Musalla

Muljim Ye Sitam Kaisa
Namazi Pe Hai Dhaya
Muljim Ye Sitam Kaisa
Namazi Pe Hai Dhaya

Zarb Aisi Lagai Hai Ke
Sar Ho Gaya Neela

Tar Ho Gaya Hai Khoon Mein
Ali Ka Musalla
Tar Ho Gaya Hai Khoon Mein
Ali Ka Musalla

Ai Momino Padho Ab
Ro Ro Ye Nauha
Tar Ho Gaya Hai Khoon Mein
Ali Ka Musalla

Kufe Ke Yateemo Ka
Sahara Tha Wo Maula
Kufe Ke Yateemo Ka
Sahara Tha Wo Maula

Ab Kaun Andhere Mein
Unhe Dega Niwala

Tar Ho Gaya Hai Khoon Mein
Ali Ka Musalla
Tar Ho Gaya Hai Khoon Mein
Ali Ka Musalla

Ai Momino Padho Ab
Ro Ro Ye Nauha
Tar Ho Gaya Hai Khoon Mein
Ali Ka Musalla

Jo Naam-E-Ali Lekar
Jeeta Hai Zamana
Jo Naam-E-Ali Lekar
Jeeta Hai Zamana

Ab Koi Nahi Hai Unhe
Jeene Ka Bahana

Tar Ho Gaya Hai Khoon Mein
Ali Ka Musalla
Tar Ho Gaya Hai Khoon Mein
Ali Ka Musalla

Ai Momino Padho Ab
Ro Ro Ye Nauha
Tar Ho Gaya Hai Khoon Mein
Ali Ka Musalla...

Ali Ka Musalla...
Ali Ka Musalla...!

Ali Ka Musalla Song Description

This song, "Ali Ka Musalla", is a heart-wrenching nauha (elegy) presented by Salim Merchant and Imran Abidi. The song commemorates that horrifying moment when Imam Ali (AS) was struck during the Fajr prayer in the mosque of Kufa, while in the state of sajdah (prostration). Here, the musalla (prayer mat) became a silent witness, observing one of the most tragic moments in Islamic history—the martyrdom of the Commander of the Faithful.

The music for this song has been composed and produced by Salim Sulaiman, while the lyrics are written by Imran Abidi. The backing vocals feature Keshav Anand, Diptanshu Tiwari, Raj Pandit, and Shivansh Jindal. It has been released under the labels of Salim Sulaiman Music and Merchant Records. The lyrics are extremely poignant, such as "Tar ho gaya hai khoon mein Ali ka musalla" (Ali's prayer mat has become wet with blood), which describes how Imam Ali's musalla was soaked in blood, and "Aye momino padho ab ro ro ye nauha" (Oh believers, now recite this elegy while weeping), which asks the faithful to remember and mourn this sorrow.

The poetry of the song deeply reflects the pain of this event, with lines like "Muljim ye sitam kaisa namazi pe hai dhaya" (What kind of cruelty is this that the attacker inflicted upon the worshipper), which highlights the oppression faced by one who was praying. Another line, "Kufe ke yateemon ka Sahara tha wo Maula" (He was the support of the orphans of Kufa), reminds us of Imam Ali's role as a guardian to the orphans of Kufa. The song also says, "Jo Naam-e-Ali lekar jeeta hai zamana" (The world that lived by taking the name of Ali), meaning that the world which thrived on Imam Ali's name now feels incomplete without him. This song is deeply touching and expresses profound reverence for Imam Ali and the sorrow of his martyrdom.
